Week 37 of Pregnancy
Baby's growth
Between 37 and 40 weeks, the baby is considered to be full-term. Bones are fully formed although they are softer and more flexible than adult bones. The lungs have matured and are ready to function on their own. Do you want to know how your child is doing? He will usually settle down with his head down, his arms crossed over his chest, and his legs bent over his lower abdomen.
Weight: 6 1/4 pounds / Size: 19 1/4 inches
Changes in mother
When your due date is near, your doctor will check the baby's position. They may also perform a vaginal exam to check the dilation of your cervix.
It's good you know...
Immediately after birth, the baby's health is evaluated, his body is dried, and secretions are aspirated from the nostrils and mouth. This routine is normal!
This is a good week to start looking for a pediatrician for your child. Over the past few months you've probably thought about some ideas for the room. Most importantly, you should consider the comfort and safety of both of you.
