Week 33 of Pregnancy

Baby's growth

Breathing movements are beginning to be seen, although still very little, the heart beats very fast and strongly. To measure the frequency of your baby's movements, your doctor will probably recommend a test called the Biophysical Profile.

Weight: 4 1/3 pounds / Size: 17 1/4 inches

Changes in mother

The top of the uterus is just below the ribs. The fundus can be felt ten fingers above your navel and is pushing on your organs more and more and can cause shortness of breath, constipation and indigestion as the baby pushes on your lungs and stomach. Try eating five or six small meals during the day.

It's good you know...

The closer you get to your due date, the more uncomfortable it may be for you to fall asleep. Anxiety, more frequent urination, heartburn, leg cramps and general discomfort can all translate into poor sleep for the pregnant woman. Try listening to soft music, reading a relaxing book, or drinking a cup of sleep-inducing herbal tea. Drink plenty of water and consume enough fiber to avoid constipation.
